Finnish Bioindustries joins the European Biosolutions Coalition to strengthen Europe's industrial biotech agenda
We are delighted to announce that Finnish Bioindustries (FIB) has joined the European Biosolutions Coalition (EBC), a growing network of industry organizations working to unlock the full potential of biosolutions and biotechnology across Europe. The coalition’s key priority is to help shape an ambitious and broad Biotech Act II, ensuring that Europe has the regulatory and innovation framework needed to remain competitive in the global bioeconomy.
For FIB, this marks an important step in taking our advocacy and policy engagement to the next level. Effective advocacy is built on strong networks, and collaboration at the European level is essential if we want Finnish companies and innovations to have a meaningful voice in shaping future policies. Alongside our engagement in EuropaBio, the European Biosolutions Coalition provides an excellent platform to strengthen the visibility and influence of industrial biotechnology and biosolutions in European decision-making.
The partnership further strengthens FIB's role as a voice for health and pharmaceutical biotechnology, and increasingly for industrial and food biotechnology, biomanufacturing, and the wider bioeconomy: As Europe prepares the next generation of biotechnology legislation, it is more important than ever that industrial biotech is fully recognized as a key driver of competitiveness, sustainability, resilience, and growth. FIB's board specifically noted that EBC complements existing European biotechnology advocacy by bringing a stronger focus on non-pharmaceutical biotechnology and biosolutions.
