Biocenter Oulu (BCO) of the University of Oulu is the oldest of the Finnish biocenters, established in 1986. BCO represents bio and health science research and its goal is to support internationally high-level science and top-level research infrastructure services.

BCO operates open access research infrastructure core facilities, and it is part of the national distributed Biocenter Finland research infrastructure network. BCO core facilities provide expertise and instrumentation for both academic and industrial customers, for example in microscopic imaging, structural biology, biocomputing, protein analysis and mouse models, detailed description at https://www.oulu.fi/en/university/faculties-and-units/biocenter-oulu.
