University of Helsinki student Arina Värä won the sixth BioFinland Pitching Competition with her idea NeutroMap. The competition was held on 15 April at Messukeskus Helsinki during ChemBio Finland.

The competition aims to inspire students to pursue biobusiness and entrepreneurship. Finnish Bioindustries FIB organised the event in collaboration with Terkko Health Hub, HiLIFE and Nasdaq Helsinki.
The competition was open to all students at Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences, from bachelor's through to doctoral level. Five teams were selected for the final. The pitched ideas ranged from metabolism measurement to using feathers as fertiliser. The finalists were Phyconova, NeutroMap, Breathome Analytics, Abbis Oy and Pluma Bio. The winning proposal offers a novel boron neutron capture solution for treating head and neck cancer.
The pitches were of high quality, making the jury's decision a challenging one. The jury comprised Sara Kangaspeska from Innovestor Oy, Minna Korpi from Nasdaq Helsinki and Ville Paavilainen from HiLIFE.
The winner receives a €1,000 prize and visibility on the Nasdaq MarketSite screen in Times Square, New York.
