Onni Biotechnologies Oy is a Helsinki-based cell therapy company developing engineered natural killer (NK) cell therapeutics for cancer. Founded in 2022 and based on the University of Helsinki's Kumpula campus, the company takes a distinctive approach: rather than engineering NK cells to recognise a specific antigen, it enhances the cells' intrinsic killing machinery to create off-the-shelf therapies active against a broad spectrum of cancer targets. Onni is currently at the preclinical stage, holds granted US and Finnish patents, and is working toward clinical trials as it seeks further investment and grows its team.
