Nordic Bioproducts Group (NBG) is a spin-off from Aalto University developing and commercializing smart biotechnologies and biomaterials. Our mission is to create sustainable products with a strong environmental, economic and social impact.

NBG was founded in 2019 by two members of the Clean Technologies research team; Professor Olli Dahl and senior commercializing officer Olli Kähkönen in collaboration with Aalto University School of Chemical Engineering.

Research and development is at the core of NBG’s operations, but we are also building our own pilot-scale production facility in Lappeenranta, Finland. The plant will be completed in the end of 2023. In addition, we plan to license our technology in the future to maximise the impact of our innovation.
